Community Contributor
Ovvian Hill has contributed to the Fort St. John community through program coordination, community engagement, and support for local initiatives. In a program leadership role, she helps connect community members with services, coordinates projects, fosters partnerships among stakeholders, and supports efforts that enhance community well-being. She is the organizer and main proponent of the Good Idea World Fair in Fort St. John in 2025 and 2026.
A Record of Volunteerism
Since her first months in Fort St. John, Ovvian has involved herself in projects through volunteerism. She has lived in Fort St. John for 17 years and has contributed to NP FilCan, research for the Community Development Plan for the City of Fort St. John, Foundry Fort St. John, the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation, the Fort St. John Community Arts Council, Arts North East, and the provincial ArtsBC.
Local Participation
Ovvian spoke at the 2020 Accessasie Conference, was among the top 50 of the Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Awards in 2021, and was nominated for a B.C. Multiculturalism and Anti-Racism Award in 2024. She is the author of Must Love Canada!, was an Artist-in-Residence for the City of Fort St. John in 2023, and designed the Fort St. John Community Awards trophy.

Creating a true Peace Region hub through cultural, entertainment, and culinary development, with particular focus on youth employment and partnerships; aiming to make Fort St. John a destination in Northeast B.C.
